What size it your BTEC in Applied Science? Is, for example, a Pearson BTEC National Extended Certificate in Applied Science (the equivalent of one A level), a Pearson BTEC National Diploma in Applied Science (the equivalent of two A levels), or something else?

Assuming it's the Diploma, so you have three equivalent of three A levels all together, then you're fine. For example, you meet the requirements for each of these (subject to having the right grades, of course):

BAEcon Accounting and Finance at University of Manchester: "The School accepts Pearson BTEC Level 3 qualifications for entry as long as it is in a relevant subject and taken alongside A-levels. The A-level you are taking must be included in the list of subjects found in the A-level entry requirements above." / "Applicants must be studying at least one of the following A-level subjects: Accounting, Anthropology, Business Studies, Classics, Economics, English Language/Literature, Further Mathematics, Geography, History, Law, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Politics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology, Use of Mathematics and World Development. / "Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma - accepted with grades D*D in combination with an A-level at grade A in a different subject area to the diploma." BSc Accounting and Finance at University of Birmingham: "BTEC options considered" / "BTEC Diploma: The following BTEC subjects subjects are prohibited: Animal Management; Art and Design; Beauty Therapy; Blacksmithing and Metalworking; Children’s Care, Learning and Development; Children’s Play Learning and Development; Dental Technology; Equine Management; Fish Management; Floristry; Forestry and Arboriculture; Horse Management; Horticulture." Accounting and Finance BSc (Hons) at University of Bath: "DDD in the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (RQF) plus A in A level Mathematics. You must be studying A level Mathematics alongside your BTEC qualification. We prefer BTEC qualifications in Business, but you can also be considered if you are studying qualifications in Engineering or Science. In this case we would expect you to demonstrate evidence of strong essay-based skills, such as strong GCSE performance in English and humanities subjects." (details)
