Second degree full funding

Can I apply for funding if I am doing a second-degree course in Psychology? I saw that it is possible to obtain full funding for Nursing and allied healthcare. Is Psychology part of it?

Hi Miriam,

Can you confirm the university this would be through and when it would be starting? How long is the course? Would this be full time or part time? Can you confirm what your previous degree is in?

Thanks,
Claire

My first degree was Bcs in Health and Social care. Now I have applied for a full-time Psychology degree in Reading University for the current year 2024/2025.

Checking the system this course isn't one of the AHP courses so won't be classed as a full time exception course.

Thanks,
Claire

So could you please let me know which ones are the AHP courses? Also, if I change course to Nursing, for example does it mean I will be able to get full funding?

Hi there. There are different courses for part time and full time that are considered exception courses.

There is a list of them here: https://www.heinfo.slc.co.uk/resources/guidance/courses-management-service-user-guide/eligibility/equivalent-or-lower-qualification-elq-exceptions/?alttemplate=printchapter&id=1454

Nursing is typically classed as an exception, however we would need the full name of the course and university to confirm it's a course funded by us. Thanks, Leah.
