London College of Fashion or Manchester Met for Fashion Management

I have received both offers from both universities to study fashion management, London College of Fashion and MMU.However I don’t know which one to go to. I know LCF is ranked highly and I may find it easier to get myself a job as they mentioned how 97% of students would find a job after graduation and I would be able to have more opportunities in fashion. However after going to both the open days I found myself liking Manchester Met more however it won’t give me more opportunities than LCF would and I think it would be harder to get a job after graduation. Could I receive some insight thanks
MMU attend graduate fashion week. LCF doesn’t and instead often seems to rely on reflected glory from CSM.

No employer employs a degree. They employ a person based on their knowledge, skills and attitude. If you’re happy then you’ll be much more likely to be able to build your skills and experiences both within and beyond your studies. The cost of living in Manchester is also much lower so you’re less likely to be forced into spending every free hour working or commuting just to survive and have free time and energy to do other things.

If you prefer MMU and think that you will thrive there then it’s a better choice.

Hi @Ocxaniqe

Congrats on your offer from Manchester Met!

It's great that you're thinking about your decisions now, but you don't have to select your firm and insurance choice on UCAS just yet. Before the UCAS decision deadline (between March and May) you'll be invited to a visit day for offer holders where you'll have the opportunity to meet with other offer holders, have a taster session, tour facilities and accommodation and talk with tutors to answer any questions you might have.

These events really help you to understand what being at uni is like day-to-day and will help you understand where you feel is the best fit for you. Man Met will send out these invitations in February and I'm sure other uni's you've applied for will also send out invites!

In the meantime, if you've got any questions about studying at Manchester Met, you can get in contact with us either on here, by contacting our Course Enquiries team or by messaging our Student Ambassadors🙂

I hope this helps!!

Congratulations on your offer from LCF!

I am a UAL student rep from LCF and I can share some of my experience as a fashion journalism and content creation student. I am currently in my final year at LCF and so far, I have loved my experience here very much. It is indeed true that as a result of LCF's industry connections, many do go on to have some good jobs after graduating. I can testify to this as I have had some great internships so far during my time here in both fashion and media. This has given me confidence when considering my post graduation employment options.

Furthermore, the industry connections have meant that we have had so many incredible guest speakers, such as the Executive European Editor of Vogue, do panel discussions and lectures for us. Some have also directly offered internships to students. Many of our alumni often return to offer guidance and opportunities to current students and graduates. For example, I was invited alongside some other students to a Louis Vuitton watch party event for Pharell William's debut.

Besides the industry opportunities, the course and campuses offer a great student experience. The staff are very helpful and you have access to many different people who can help you with your queries from academic to mental health. Speaking from my experience, the course content is very rich and gives you the confidence to leave with necessary skills.

I wish you the best with your application.
Hii congratulations! May ask if you applied for undergrad ? And whether you’re a home student or an international student ?
