Hi,

I‘m a final year at Glasgow, so any questions about the course then just shoot me a message! But, here are a couple of websites which have articles written by academics on really interesting, and particularly relevant, topics… I hope you find them interesting 😊

Hi, I’m unsure if this will be useful to you particularly but I thought I’d chime in anyway. I watched BBC’s ‘Pilgrimage’ for one of my supercurriculars for Philosophy and Religion (so slightly different course).

It follows celebrities of different faiths and backgrounds while they go on a pilgrimage. I watched the most recent series and learnt about religions and faiths I’d known about before, which I mentioned in my personal statement.

There's a philosophy writing competition for teenagers called the Think Essay Prize. It's organised by the Royal Insitute of Philosophy, and you have to pick one of the questions they have provided and then write an essay on it. It closes late April 2025, so you've still got plenty of time to write and apply. The winning essay gets published in their journal 'Think'.

There's also the Young Poets Religious Poetry Competition, which may take your fancy. I don't know quite as much about it yet as I haven't started working on an entry, but it sounds like it would be useful for you.

I hope this helps. 😊
