Hey I’ve applied too! I wonder when they’re gonna send out interview invitations. A close friend of mine applied and got in last year. He got an interview invite on the 20th Dec, so I’m prettyyy nervous now. Could be soon. And they only invite 30 people to interview! May I ask what your background is? I’m so curious to know what degrees people come from for this course. Is there a particular candidate that they may favour? So many questions!

From reading other threads, it seems like they usually send out interview emails the last few weeks of Dec. and the first of Jan. I don't think we need to worry that it's now 21 Dec., and I doubt they'd send emails on the weekend:smile:

My undergrad degree is actually in linguistics - got a 1st overall (78 average for both Honours years, 82 average for 4th year - Scottish uni) and one of the highest dissertation marks. My focus is on neurolinguistics - I'm an RA at two neuroscience labs in the UK and this past year have been working as a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences. I have first-author publications in neurolinguistics and recently co-authored a neurosurgery paper, and I have a few manuscripts in prep. too in the same areas. What is your background like?

Good luck, and I hope we all hear back soon!!

Yes I got it at around 10. I'm currently in my third year of uni and I majored in Psychology. I have a predicted first, a couple scholarships, and some research experience

Hi, my portal says what it originally said when I gave in the application, that is ready for review. Not received an interview either but trying to remain positive xx

Both of them getting it at 10am does imply they sent out at least some at once, but I think it is still within reason to hope we'll get one tomorrow. Portal still says ready for assessment. Do you guys know about the upload button thing?
If you go to your application, and then on view documents or something, there is an upload button in the bottom left corner. Apparently, if that button is not there anymore a decision has been reached on your application and from what I have observed it does seem to be pretty accurate.

I still have the upload button, haven't heard about interviews yet. So I'm hoping they haven't gone through them all yet!

The upload button is just something you pick up on if you go through old forums haha, GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

I think it's worth holding on to hope until the end of next week. Usually they give atleast interview invites a week in advance and historically the interviews are held last week of January so I think if we don't receive anything by the end of next week its most likely a rejection. I'm not going to lie I'm a little distraught if today was the only day for interview invites 😂

Has anyone heard anything today?

Nope, and my upload button is still there, so I think they might just be doing things in batches? Someone told me it could be alphabetical too

Don't know if it's helpful for anyone but here's the email they sent me:

Thank you for your application to our MSc in Neuroscience programme. We have just completed our shortlisting process and are very pleased to invite you to participate in an online interview over Teams during the week Monday 27th - Friday 31st January. During this interview you will asked to give a 10-minute presentation on a research project that you have recently carried out. You will then be asked questions on your presentation and finally some questions about why you feel our programme is the right programme for you at this time.

To enable me to arrange an appropriate panel for your interview please would you reply to this email as soon as possible and by 17:00 (UK time) on Friday 10th January at the latest answering the following:

1.

Please confirm your continued interest in participating in an interview for our MSc in Neuroscience programme.

2.

Please could you let me know into which of the following research areas does your presentation fall?

3.

Computational Neuroscience

4.

Cognitive Neuroscience (including brain imaging)

5.

Molecular Neuroscience (including neurodegenerative disease)

6.

Systems Neuroscience (including electrophysiology and optogenetics)

7.

Neuropsychiatry and Mental Health

8.

Developmental Neuroscience

9.

Other (please specify)

10.

Please let me know in which country and time zone you will be during the week 27-31 January so that I can allocate an appropriate time for your interview.

11.

Please let me know if there are any days or times during that week that you would not be available for an online interview.

On receipt of your reply, I will put together an interview timetable and inform you of the date and time of your interview by no later than Wednesday 15th January. I will also send further details about the interview itself and a Teams link, once all interviewees have confirmed that the allocated time and date is convenient.

I’m afraid we are unable to accommodate requests for interviews outside the hours of 8:30-5:30 (UK time) and interviews will only be held on the dates given above (Monday January 27th- Friday January 31st).

Many congratulations on being shortlisted for interview, competition was extremely tough this year, with more applications than we have ever previously received
