Need advice on RAF/Navy pilot role

I am currently in my 1st year at college and plan on doing 2 more years at college in order to complete my level 3 course. I would love to be a pilot however I am unsure if I'd like to apply to the navy or the RAF. I do not know what to do next and what my next steps would be to make me become either navy or an RAF pilot and need advice on what to do next
Hi both are great careers, I suppose it depends what sort of flying you want to do Navy F-35s and helicopters, RAF everything else. What are you currently studying and at what level? Have you spoken to RAF and Navy recruitment? Do you have any experience of the cadet scheme?

Look at the Recruitment websites for the RN and RAF. They will each have all the information you need for the Pilot role, including qualifications, medical requirements, fitness standards and how the selection process works.

Ensure you have been involved in activities that show your leadership potential; volunteering, sports, employment etc.

I am studying level 2 uniform services and plan onto going onto level 3 and yes I have spoken to them but they haven't given me any straight answers and basically just said I need more qualifications and that it's a really competitive role. Also the goal would be to fly F-35s in the Navy or typhoons in the RAF

Thankyou for your response. Is there any specific volunteering work that I would need to do? And would I need a university degree?

You don't need a degree, but you'll check that your qualifications meet the requirements.

You're interested in an Officer role, so you need to be able to give examples of taking responsibility, showing initiative, organising eg, not just that you played on a football team, but you helped organise transport to games or were actively involved in arranging a match as a charity fund-raiser.
