Life in Oxbridge

Hi, I was just wondering what life is like at Oxford and Cambridge. Is it still full of snooty people with no diversity? Do you feel like you still have a life? I put a lot of pressure on myself and am very perfectionist. Would Oxbridge be too much pressure? What are the highlights of going to Oxbridge?
Thanks!!!

You'll probably here this a lot, but I find the Oxbridge life is what you make it to be.

Sure there can be a lot of snotty people if you go looking, but the diversity has improved a lot, so if you are looking for a certain group of people you'll most likely find them.

I think with 'having a life', you have to manage your time carefully but it is still very doable, but only if you make the effort. It's very easy to get into the habit of work work work sometimes.

About the pressure, I think it would be manageable. I feel quite a lot of people have come into Oxbridge degrees who are like you, and they've been able to adapt, and I trust you'll be able to do it too.

Approximately 27% of the undergraduates at Oxford and Cambridge are from ethnic minorities. Approximately 70% of the undergraduates went to State schools. LGBT people flourish at both universities. There are some challenges to wheelchair access in some of the old buildings, but wheelchair lifts and ramps are in place.

The two universities have a vibrant social life based on the collegiate system. Work hard, party crazy is very much a thing. The scholarly ethos is strong. The experience can be quite intense, academically and socially.

Go to open days and see if you like the vibe.
