Social Work 2025
Hey all! I have applied for social work undergrad for Sep 2025 entry. Anyone else applied- if so where to, how are you feeling?
I had my first interview today at Brighton and it was really intimidating but I received an offer within 2.5 hours so i feel so much relief. My number one uni’s selection day (SHU) is next week though so I am really nervous about that 😅
There are barely any threads for social work on here so hopefully the right people find this lol.

hey! where do you find the rest of your information on what the interview would be like? do they vary a lot? and good luck on the rest of your interviews!

Hey! Just messaged you in the official thread lol 
Sheffield Hallam’s was on their website in the health interview section, whereas Brighton- it as a pack to me via their portal (student view UOB)
Nottingham, Coventry and Brookes sent it in an email.
Brighton- invite to interview but 48 hours before I had to do google forms written test, suitability declaration, provide details for a second reference. (No group interview)
SHU- all in one day on teams: started day with group task in breakout rooms for 30 mins, then 30-40 min written assessment, and individual interview slot assigned in the afternoon
Nottingham- 2 stage shortlisting: written task which is assessed, if successful, then invited to individual interview (no group interview)
Coventry- all in one day: first group discussion, then individual interview, then written task based on an article given beforehand.
Brookes- reluctantly say it appears to only be an individual interview- but I’m not 100% sure. The information is patchy for Brookes
I’ve done my SHU and Brighton interviews so far- and they were different in some ways but the info you need to know stays the same. I found Brighton asked more questions and and were looking for specific words and answers to trigger criterions, whereas SHU asked less, more open ended questions that were directly linked to the PCF, and let you make your own path to prove how you meet the PCF.
I haven’t got them on my right now but if it would help, I can post the key things I included in my notes so you can consider them?
