History coursework essay. I really need help. Due Jan 6th

So we've had an awful teacher ever since year 12, who's hardly been in college in year 13, resulting in her getting sacked. Along with this, she forgot to respond to my 1st essay draft, and gave the worst advice ever for my second essay draft, not giving me any idea on what I did wrong & what needs improving. Because of this, I genuinely still have no idea how to structure this 4000 word essay etc. My question is (paraphrased) "who had a bigger impact on the civil rights movement, Malcolm X or MLK". I have no clue how to approach any of this, and although I did 3000 words in my previous draft, I was just farting words out my brain without any idea on what direction to go. Could somebody please give me some advice on how to approach this essay and how to structure it, and when to compare the two people I mentioned etc?
