Northeastern London application

I’ve submitted my UCAS application and received emails from all universities saying they received it EXCEPT Northeastern Uni in London. I’ve even received offers from 3 of my choices but not even an email from Northeastern. Does it take long for them to receive it?

Hey, did you apply with A-Levels or other qualifications because I’m considering applying to NU London but I’m unsure whether CTECs would be accepted

I applied with a levels, i’m actually not too sure about CTECs. I know they accept btecs since they state it on their requirements page, honestly it is best to contact them via phone call and ask. Don’t be afraid to call them they are friendly.

That’s good ! you should contact them again. Ask about the specific course you want and what their grade requirements are for CTECs. Their Alevel boundaries are averaged at AAA- ABB so i probably think they want distinctions or merits at least? not too sure how CTECs work. Good luck!

I’m predicted mostly distinctions

Be aware that this University has a very unusual history and is not a conventional UK Uni is any respect.
Its was cobbled together from the remnants of a failed Uni experiment called New College of the Humanities that were picked up by this USA Uni ands rejigged into their UK Campus. It has only been in this form for a few years, it has zero academic credibility, and no conventional Uni facilities - ie. no library, no sports facilities, no student housing. There are only 300 students so its at the level of a very small FEl college. And you will spend the rest of you life explaining why you wasted time and money on a Uni that no-one has ever heard of.

I see what you mean and i do agree, the only thing that convinced me to apply there was because of the links it had to the USA uni since i want to do a year abroad. However, i did end up changing NE london to KCL.
Richmond is a better choice if you're looking for US links in that they've been around for over 50 years and have TDAPs https://www.officeforstudents.org.uk/for-providers/regulatory-resources/the-ofs-register/#/provider/10005470

Hello, is it possible to make a direct application to NU London instead of applying through UCAS, and would there be an additional fee for this?

Hey @salvatore06 !

Congrats on submitting your application! The university responds in due time, however I would recommend you to confirm with the university that they received it just in case there was a technical issues with your submission. If you email [email protected] and explain your concern to them, they will definitely help you and can give you information on the status of your application. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Best,
Meriam (2nd Year Student Ambassador at NU London)
