I need help with this example: There are 4 lanes of DNA: 1 with the Hind ladders kb 23.0, 9.6, 6.6, 4.3, 2.3, 2.0 and the distance migrated of those fragments respectively, 28mm, 40mm, 46mm, 54mm, 78mm and 83mm. I need to find the unknown of the other 3 lanes: lane 2 had 55mm, lane 3 had 48mm and lane 4 had 30mm.
I believe I have to do a log plot of the kb values, do gradient equation and then do 10^ to get the base pairs, the problem is that my values would be innaccurate because the 55mm is always bigger than 54 when using the rate equation.
I cannot just extrapolate with the slope alone because this is an exam question that requires calculations.
Please, tell me what should I do to fix this
