Uni help pls

Hiya, I applied to university of Manchester for speech and language but got rejected because of my GCSE grades, however during my GCSEs I was in and out of hospital and ended up having surgery after my GCSEs so I missed my chemistry exam and was in severe paid during my exams which caused me to perform not to my fullest (I had a doctors note so I was able to miss the exam) is there anything I can do as the rejection was about my GCSEs which I had no control over and if not if there anyway I can substitute the choice to Manchester met as it won’t allow me to do it on my application???
Any advice welcome I’m not sure what to do :frown:
Thank you <33

You can change choices within 14 days of your welcome email. If you are within that timeframe but are not seeing the option to do it, ring UCAS on Monday.

Were all of your science GCSEs affected by surgery? Manchester only requires one science to be grade 5 or above.

With GCSE requirements the expectation is that if you didn’t get the required grades in yr11 you would resit in yr12 or yr13.

I asked my teachers too but I’ve not seen my reference so I’m not sure

All my exams were affected as I was so ill during the time but I only missed one exam fully which was chemistry, is there any specific thing I need to ask UCAS in order to substitute the choice? Thank you

I think you can see it. Someone like @PQ might be able to help?

Ooo thank you who’s that?
You just need to contact UCAS and ask to see your reference.
