Student Finance Special Support Loan - Disabilities

Hi, I sent over my PIP evidence (higher mobility, standard daily living) to student finance hoping to get the special support loan. I was previously living with my parents but I'm now living in halls and I receive universal credit. Due to my parents income, I'm receiving the minimum amount of maintenance loan. I recently received a letter stating that I'm receiving £0.00 for my special support loan, why would this be?

Hi there, are you currently in receipt of maintenance loan from us and when was it you sent the evidence? Thanks, Jason

No, it says that all evidence has been accepted and confirmed
Hi Elspeth,

Did your sponsor(s) support your application and have you only been awarded the basic amount of the Maintenance Loan due to the household income being too high for you to be eligible for anything more than the basic?

Thanks, Drew

Hi,
I'm unsure what you mean by sponsors and that is correct about my parents income however I am getting no financial support from them
Hi Elspeth, as the Special Support Loan eligibility is also based on household income, it is possible that this is why it has not been applied. You can check the award with us by contacting us. You can do this via our live chat service. To access our live chat service select undergraduate and then ‘contact us’. From here you will be able to use our live chat service when it is available. Alternatively, you can contact us on 0300 100 0607 for further assistance. Our opening hours are stated on our ‘contact us’ page. Thanks, Stephen.
