Year abroad for those studying arabic and politics

Where do you go? Do you have a choice? (assuming it will also depend on political tensions)

Hi,

The options vary by university and can change suddenly due to political tensions and conflict. I study International Relations and Arabic at SOAS and, last year, I studied in Jordan. SOAS used to offer a choice between Jordan and Palestine but this was discontinued the year my cohort went abroad.

I'd say Jordan is generally a popular choice for a lot of universities, since there were also students from St Andrews, Exeter, Manchester and Oxford studying there at the same time as us. However, some of them also had the option of choosing Morocco or Tunisia, depending on their university's arrangements.
