Kings rejection

I’m confused I got rejected from kings for my lnat not being “competitive enough”, but I got a Cambridge interview. Does that mean I got like below average or something in my lnat? Worried because literally all the unis I applied for are competitive ones and the ‘least competitive’ i applied to is literally Warwick, the others ones were ucl, lse and camb.

Why would a rejection from King's mean your LNAT must have been below average? In recent years King's have rejected about 85% of Law applicants (source). So if their sole entry criterion was the LNAT then you could score well above average (top 20%) and still be rejected because it wasn't in the top 15%.

Also, just because King's have opted not to make you an offer, doesn't mean your other target unis will make the same decision, as they all use different criteria to assess applicants.

I was in the same situation as OP, so this is reassuring, how does ucl measure in comparison when it comes to the lnat.

Do you mean in terms of a cut-off? I don't know, I'm afraid.

Don't stress about it, every year King's reject hundreds of fantastic applicants for no apparent reason. They're hugely biased in favour of international students and use very odd metrics to determine who gets in and who doesn't. I was rejected from Kings but took a year out and got an offer from Oxford. It's a similar issue with Warwick, they hugely favour contextual and international applicants for their law programme and give very few offers for home non-contextual applicants (although this wasn't relevant to my case). For anyone reading this, if you're a domestic student I'd strongly recommend against applying to KCL's law programme, it's quite frankly a waste of an application especially considering King's statistics in terms of student satisfaction and domestic rankings.

im a contextual applicant (i think), im a young carer with extenuating circumstances re; my GCSES, im terrified that they may have rejected me because my score was abysmal. Do they lower their lnat cut off for contextual applicants- i could then infer whether its the cut off that hurt me or if i just did really poorly.

I got rejected from kings for law a month ago they emailed me 5 hours before asking for more info on my etxenuating circumstances then rejected me 5 hours later before I was able to proivde the info. My predicted met the requirments and my GCSES were above avera I got level 2D,9,8,8,7,6,6,6,6,5,5. So they wern't the issue it was my LNAT as they also stated that when they rejected me so no they don't lower your LNAT requirement if you're a contextual student
