It's great to hear you're considering us! I'd definitely recommend you booking onto an Open Day with us and one at Huddersfield next month so that way you can get a feel for both campuses, speak to current students on the course and the academics who'd be teaching you! Take tours of campus, accommodation etc too and see if you can picture yourself at the university, you'll be spending a lot of time there so you want to choose somewhere that feels right for you. You could also make a day of it and explore the area afterwards, maybe grab a bite to eat, check out any local parks/walks. You might be able to find more info about the student life too, I know here at Bradford we sometimes have society members on stands so you can find out more about the different clubs/societies you can participate in, volunteering opportunities, find out about cool student union events throughout the year etc.
Alongside this you can find out about career opportunities available to you, find out about the facilities you'd be learning in, support services available to you, attend talks specific to the course and also on things like personal statements and student finance for instance.
You could also check out any virtual tours of campuses if you are unable to attend the in-person open days so you can still see the facilities, study and social places on campus etc. I'd also recommend checking out the university websites and social media for any tours, student stories about their experience of studying Optometry.
Whichever decision you make, I wish you the very best of luck! I hope you have a fab university experience!! 🙂
Please let me know if you have any specific questions about studying at Bradford and I'll do my best to help.
