hey. i got an offer for ead ucl

i do alevel and gcse art and stuck a bunch of random stuff in there. the most important is to make sure you have a wide range of mediums. they don’t care if you are the best at painting, they want to see your ability to work in everything. don’t include architectural pieces, unless they’re truly outstanding. they don’t want to see your ability in what they’re gonna teach you.

if you can, put some 3d stuff in there. for ucl specific advice. don’t jam pack your pages- that’s something i regret doing. also don’t put fancy titles and fonts/ backgrounds. if you keep it simple the work will stand out more. try to include short text for each piece.

most important advice overall, make sure your portfolio follows a story or theme. when you walk through it if you get an interview- they want to see links through your pieces. if the pieces you want to include don’t relate to eachother, make up a theme or storyline. i did mine on cultural integration within architecture.

goodluck.

no problem, i work mainly in pencil/biro so about three of my ten pages were just in those mediums. i did a page on painting, one page with mixed mediums including charcoal and oil pastel on observational studies, another on 3d rendering using sketchup and revit of product design and landscapes, and i developed this across 2 pages. I also used one page for film, one for photography and one for clay. hope that helps
