Nursing school life

Hello everyone im getting terrified and anxious for nursing school.. I havent decided where i am going yet but all iv seen on social media and what everyones been telling me is that nursing school is going to be really stressful and draining and your social life is gone. I know that going to nursing school comes with sacrifices, but I don't want to full on feel like **** everyday. I was just wondering if anyone had a positive experience with nursing school in particular children's nursing. And if anyone has words of wisdom they can share..
Thank you.

My friend does child nursing and she loves it so much. The course is draining and you probably won’t get the same social life as other people in your uni. You are only gonna have approximately 10weeks holiday per year so while other people r on holiday you will be on placement. However, the career is rewarding but also demanding

Hi!

My names Shannon, I’m a second year children’s nurse here at Wrexham university. First of all I'm so sorry that this is such a late response!

I personally love the degree, whilst it can be hard to fit general life around the placements and theory it is possible and it is important you make time for yourself, socialise, and enjoy your time as a student.

Deciding what you want to do in the future is massively daunting especially when you don't know what you have passion for! You can always try to find somewhere to do Healthcare work prior to deciding if nursing is for you, don't let others make you feel as though you have to rush straight into university make sure you do what's best for you! If you want to know more about the different areas of nursing have a look at the link below! 🙂 https://wrexham.ac.uk/blog/posts/adult-nursing-childrens-nursing-and-mental-health-nursing-what-are-the-differences/

Additionally if you wish to have an in-sight into a day in the life as a adult nurse on theory here at Wrexham University this link can help with that 🙂https://wrexham.ac.uk/blog/posts/study-journey-adult-nursing-student/

And in case you wish for a view on placement here's a blog in the day in the life of a childrens nurse on placement - it's rather similar for all nursing fields 🙂https://wrexham.ac.uk/blog/posts/day-in-the-life-of-a-childrens-nursing-student-on-placement/

I hope this helps, even just a little bit! Feel free to message current students here at Wrexham studying the areas you think you might be interested in on UniBuddy! 🙂
