Pros:
Biotech pays well in industry
You're at the cutting edge of research, lots of new discoveries being made in biotech
At my uni (uni of Glasgow) you'll have quite a varied program, working with bacteria, nematodes, genetically modifying bacteria, coding, working with plant cells

Cons:
Long labs in uni and work (it's not unusual for procedures to take 3-5 hours to do)
If you don't enjoy computer work you might not like biotech as there's more coding involved than I expected
Intense workload - 5 days a week uni (though that's true for all science degrees the biotech, biochem and genetics students still seemed to be full on in Y3)
