English speaking + listening exam topic ideas

I’m doing my GCSE English speaking exam this year (with AQA) and I’m struggling to think of ideas. I want something unusual, not too serious, but still interesting. My teacher won’t let us do anything about favourite footballers/singers etc. So wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions? What did you do for yours?

I did about nature vs nurture for mine (I do psychology and thought it was interesting) and got a distinction so I'd recommend maybe talking about a topic from a subject you like??

mine was boring, it was about why high stakes exams should be banned, but some of the rlly good ones in my class were: are serial killers born or made?, are pheremone perfumes ethical?, beauty standards, sexual abuse, gaming.

If you don't mind me asking what sort of things did you mention in your speech. I am thinking of doing mine on the same topic. I would really appreciate it!

I talked about banduras social learning theory, and found a Cambridge study that said that children who are close to their parents at age 3 show more kindness and empathy by adolescence and children with a strained relationship with their parents are less likely to form prosocial habits. Good luck with ur speech, I'm sure you'll do amazing!!

Mine was quite political lol, I did it on the hypocrisy of the media in reporting disasters in western countries vs non western countries - this was 3 years ago though so I got away with a Palestine mention, which would be more controversial today. I got a distinction! I'd definitely recommend doing something a bit more unusual and it doesn't need to be political at all if you'd rather not. I don't know if you've seen that Grade 9 girls video of her presentation which was literally "why you should date me" but I remember watching that and realising it honestly doesn't matter what the topic is. I'd just recommend being passionate about it, so you can make it as engaging as possible.
What's your favourite subject and what kind of things are you into? That'd be a good starting point in finding a topic.
