BA Primary Education 2025 entry

Is anyone else applying for this course? Have you had any offers yet?

I'm anxious to hear. I applied late November. I am a contextual student and I have relevant work experience too.
Hi! I've applied through UCAS but I haven't received any offers either. Good luck!

hi, thanks for replying, what grades do you have? I have BBBCC and predicted BB at Higher and B at AdvH this year. I heard they get over 1000 applications each year for just 134 places so its competitive.
yeah it's honestly so competitive but im sure youll be offered a place especially because of your work experience, I'm applying in 5th year rn, I got AAABBC at national 5 but I'm aiming for ABBBC at higher so I put pending beside each grade at higher level on my application so I'm hoping to get a conditional offer soon, but there's always UCAS clearing if we don't get a spot. I'm pretty sure they lower grade requirements to something like BBC for BA's in priamry education just to fill leftover spots.

Are you planning on applying for any college courses in Janaury? It's a good back up option, I've applied for an HNC in Childhood Practie at Forth Valley since applications have opened there, you only need two highers at level B including English and you'd definitely be able to get into University after the course (it's only a year) and then you'd only need 2 other highers at level B or above (including English) with the HNC to get into a lot of unis like Strathclyde University or UWS. I know they accept a lot of HNC students because the course is basically identical to first year at Primary Education BA's so they know you'll pass it. You can reuse your uni personal statement for colleges if you're applying in the same year so applying would be easy.

Not applying for college courses, no, as I think my grades would be enough. I know you need N5 Maths at B which I have (I got AAAAABB) and English and one other social science at Higher (I've got BBBCC including English, History and RMPS which are all social science). I think my personal statement is pretty strong as I have lots of work experience and other responsibilities. I wonder what the mix of college and school applicants are. I don't think they do this course via clearing as its so competitive I doubt they'd struggle to fill any places. That said, I know UWS had places on clearing last year but that's probably because its quite far away from most applicants.
Yeah, you'll definitely get a place then, i think its just taking awhile for offers to get sent out because of how competitive it is. I hope we get offers soon, so far Ive got an interview for Dundee uni so I'm hoping if it goes well I'll get an offer but the wait for offers is so miserable
Have either of you received conditional or unconditional offers yet? I’ve heard nothing from Dundee, QMU or Stirling. Didn’t make the grades after 5th year so really hoping it’s not full on rejections and I’ll be given the chance to prove myself with this year’s predictions. The waiting is the worst……

I've received a conditional from Dundee uni not too long ago, that's it though, I received an email from QMU saying they've just started looking through applications and reviewing them about 1 week ago so im guessing not many people have revieved offers from them yet. There's still plenty more time, so try not to be too worried because I do feel like some unis like having all of the applications before properly reviewing them after the UCAS deadline like QMU does for BA primary education. Plus there's always UCAS clearing and it's pretty first comes first for that but as long as you're early applying for clearing if you don't have any offers by then you have a good chance of getting a spot. Waiting is completely the worst feeling ever, but I wouldn't be too worried about not having the grades yet, neither do I and especially because a lot of those applying will be waiting for the grades they need as well. I'm sure you'll get an offer!! Try not to worry about it too much, it does suck waiting but QMU only just started reviewing so you do have a good chance, good luck!

Also, I was just looking at other threads and found one from last year's applicants for the same QMU course asking if anyone had recieved offers yet and at the end the last two posts made was 7 months ago, so it would have been June-ish time saying they just got offers. That made me pretty hopeful ahah so keep your hopes high, I think they're pretty slow at reviewing and making offers
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply and for your words of encouragement. I do have a conditional offer from Aberdeen, but Dundee or QMU would be my preferred choice, I don’t think I would risk a place at Aberdeen by rejecting it in order to enter clearing. I’m just hoping some of those that have received unconditional offers reject them before Dundee and QMU stop sending out conditionals!!!
That's amazing!! Aberdeen is a great uni, there's no point applying to clearing then. I'm sure QMU & Dundee will give u an offer soon anyways, good luck!
Has anyone had any offers yet?
I've had one from Dundee but got rejected from Strathclyde, still waiting on QMU and Stirling
oh no, sorry you got rejected, did it say why? I haven't heard from them :frown:
Thanks, it does suck a little but they said they have gotten too many applicants who reached and excelled the entry requirements
but another 5th year in my school applying has gotten all A's for nat 5's and predicted all A's at higher, applying for psychology and got rejected from Strathclyde as well, so I'm guessing they don't give many offers to 5th year applicants.

In sure youll get an interview soon! There's still plenty of time
Offer* not interview haha
