Loughborough fine art

I've just applied to Loughborough with UCAS but haven't yet sent off my portfolio as I'm really stuck on what to include on it. Would anyone who is currently at Loughborough or been accepted by them be willing to show me some of what they included in the portfolio? thanks xx

So exciting you have applied to Loughborough! I haven't studied there but these may be useful resources to give you a better sense of loughborough and portfolio inspo:

- A tour of the Loughborough fine art degree show 2023
- Advice from Newcastle Uni about what to include in your art portfolio
- Advice from UCA
- Advice from UAL
- Accepted Art portfolios - EXAMPLE 1, EXAMPLE 2, EXAMPLE 3

Something that may also give you an edge in your portfolio/in your art career is thinking about how you see yourself progressing in this field as a profession rather than as a hobby. Being commercially savvy and having a strong grasp on how art is bought/sold and what kind of client/s /companies etc. you may want to work with/sell to early on will make you stand out.

What kind of career/direction art wise are you thinking at the moment? Illustration/galleries/performance art etc? :smile:

Did you get your portfolio sorted? My daughter just received an offer, she included 5-6 projects, research development and chosen route for each, some photography and some life drawing.

Congrats on the Loughborough offer. Will your daughter accept her place? My daughter is struggling to choose between Loughborough, Leeds, Brighton, Bath Spa or Norwich Uni of Arts…

I'm not sure in all honesty, she will go to the offer holder day in May then decide (I hope), she has offers from Edinburgh uni ECA, MMU, UofWTSD (Swansea college of art), Northumbria and Loughborough. It is a tough decision for sure, told her she needs to go on gut feeling... : D
