also on our date, guy 2 didn't kiss me and only hugged me because he said he'd only give me a hug because of PDA. is this a good or bad thing? I was relieved that there was no kiss because I've never kissed anyone sober. I am worried about pushing him away because I do know that I really like him as a friend, but I haven't allowed myself the possibility to consider it further and that he might actually like me and be a good guy and be sweet and kind. I have already begun to push him away which I have realised, but is there any way to salvage this situation - he asked me to dinner and I panicked and said that coffee (at dinner time instead of food) was good. I am now thinking maybe I should have agreed to dinner and is there any way to salvage this?

I reiterate my concern that you might benefit from rusticating and returning to Oxford in October. Or at the least take some time off now.

I suggest that you are over thinking things. Try to be your sober self. Interact with men naturally and don't read too much into every situation. Young men are likely to be just as nervous as young women about sex and romance.

Work hard to control your alcohol intake. The important thing is that any intimacy is consensual, with consent being given when in a fit state to make informed decisions.

You can inform the welfare staff at your college of any concerns. At club nights, balls, and so on, there should be a sober graduate student on hand to see to the welfare of undergraduates . If you have had too much to drink, go back to your room, drink a lot of water, and go to sleep alone.
