Extenuating Circumstance

Hi. was just wondering, would it be worth submitting extenuating circumstance about my GCSEs to my unis. My GCSEs were decent but I had an emergency surgery 6 months before my GCSEs. Whilst it seemed like quite a while, it impacted my prep and also because I had mocks short after, I had missed a bit of content that I had to catch up on myself.
For reference my GCSEs were 988777774 and the unis im interested in notifying are imperial and lse. UCL said it would be unlikely for them to consider it, so not sure about them but what about imperial and lse? As ik those unis applicants all have top end grades and not sure if they would take it as seriously, it being months before my actual exams.

Honestly, it's definitely worth it! I have extenuating circumstances, but the difference is im not applying to big unis.

But deffo put that down it's a good idea plus what's there to lose?

I really wanna but the "whats their to lose?". Idk why but i just feel like they would look down on it as a sad attempt to make my chances better. Like it was way before GCSEs so it seems more like an excuse than a circumstance and they may think like someone who couldnt handle that despite having months may make me seem worse?

Listen, surgery is an impactful event, they wont think that you're trying making a sad attempt and making an excuses. These people who are deciding your application are human too - some may have gone thru surgery, or know someone who has, and will know how tough surgery is on anyone, especially younger people. Go for it
