Is a business computing bachelors degree worthless

So I dropped out last year after failing my biomed first year (due to laziness) and I'm looking to go back and was interested in a business computing degree, I heard it's not as demanding as a compsci. Well I was talking to a coworker at my part time who's also trying to get into tech through apprenticeships (I can't do this due to my visa lengths but l'm entitled to sfe hence uni is kinda my only option) or uni. And he told me the brutal truth that l'd be up against compsci majors which I know but Im aiming for project management in tech roles and data analysis type roles. He said it'd still be hard. And now I'm kinda stuck cuz the only thing l'm good at is social sciences and to get a decent job in that sector u need a phd, and I kinda just want to get a bachelors and move on with life.
Would it be a waste of time doing this degree? Tech is so versatile, it'd also allow me to work with a company that produces products I really enjoy. I was planning on doing internships also in related fields during uni. But I'm scared lol.
Only other degree that'd give a job immediately is healthcare related bachelors but I don't want to work in healthcare.
You don’t need a PhD for a good job with a social sciences degree. A PhD actually makes you less employable for many jobs.

CS degrees have the highest unemployment rates of any subject because so many students think they just need to learn code without any of the business awareness or “soft” skills that are needed for employment. Business computing is an excellent option if you want to get into IT management/projects/reporting etc. have you done any work experience in those sorts of roles to make sure that it’s what you would enjoy?

No not yet I’m learning to code with python for now then I’ll learn Java and when I’m a bit more proficient I’d like to start some projects, and maybe get some work experience if possible. I had looked into doing a social sciences with data science degree but the employability prospects just looked so slim even with a masters. There’s not a lot I could do with it, which is why I started looking into CS but saw that a lot of dev roles and the like are outsourced to countries like Poland and India. So thought a business computing degree that combines tech with management would be a good alternative. But got really disheartened when I told my coworker cuz he just said it was unlikely to work out and I should just do CS. Another reason I wanted to do a degree with something tech related is because I assumed there’d be a lot of startups that might be able to take me on for internships or the like.
