Evidence rejection

I am applying as an independent student. I am 21 I have lived alone for 3 years without support from my family. I continue to send in multiple forms of evidence however it keeps getting pushed back saying it was insufficient income for a few months however that was all I had to live off for those months as I was training to be cabin crew it was all I had. I am running out of things to send at this point and I’ve had to reduce my hours at work to go to uni. I’ve ran out of options and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to continue my course because I just can’t afford to survive.

Hi there,

If the assessor deems that your income was not sufficient then they will not be able to accept your independence evidence. Are you still in contact with your parent(s) and how old are you? Is this for the 2024/25 academic year?

Thanks, Drew

Hi there,

If you are under the age of 25 then you are classed as an dependent student. When we say your sponsor(s) have to support your application we do not expect them to give you money however they would need to provided their household income to support the application. Do you know if they got an email to do so?

Thanks, Drew

Hi,

If they provide evidence to support the application will it not then be based on their income?

Thanks

They did not get an email because I applied as an independent student I have supported myself away from my family for over 3 years.

Hi there,

If the evidence was processed and they have not accepted it then you will need to get your sponsor(s) to complete the PFF2 form. You can get this from the Gov.UK website and it can be uploaded from your online account.

Thank, Drew

Will this not base my student loan off of my parent’s income?

Hi there,

Yes we will base your Maintenance Loan off your sponsors household income but if you do not provide the PFF2 form then you will only be eligible for the basic amount of Maintenance Loan.

Thanks, Drew
