tips for getting a part time job?

since i turned 16 i’ve been applying everywhere i can think of (mcdonald’s, tescos, starbucks, costa, sainsburys, argos, etc), but i’m 18 now and literally still haven’t been accepted for a job. i apply to a few jobs every month, i’ve received a single interview but it was ended early bcs i wasn’t available at the hours they needed someone for bcs i obviously have school monday-friday mornings & afternoons. i live in london, not far from central, which doesn’t help either.

does anybody have some tips on how i can actually get a job? i thought places would be more willing to hire me now i’m 18 but still no luck.

thank you!

I'm in the same boat. Been applying to everything I'm eligible to and have gotten nowhere, with my application either being completely ignored or rejected. I'm afraid I'm just replying to this to see what other people say, but you're definitely not the only one if it's any consolation :,)

In London (especially central london) there should be more jobs.
Try fast food places such as mcdonalds. They are very flexible and take on a lot of students.
Also try touristy type places (m&m world, museums, tourist attractions etc).

Just keep going and keep applying - eventually you will crack it.
