How to manage stress at University?

I thought it would be a good time to provide a bit of advice to everyone as this time of year can be particularly stressful, as many of us have lots of assignments/ exams due at this time.

Here are my top tips for managing stress at University...

Ask for help if you need it - this can be the best way sometimes to quickly reduce stress and improve your morale.
Set a routine - this can help to reduce stress as it can help to improve organisation which a lack of this, can cause some people to struggle sometimes.

Look after your body - this can be a great way to help your body relax and just focus on something new and different.

Make sure you are getting enough sleep - sleep is really important as it can help to repair your body and regulate conditions such as anxiety and depression.

I hope this helps, feel free to drop any suggestions that you might have below...

Hi Matt!

I think this is a great idea so I thought I could add some of my tips for managing stress at uni!

1.

Try and have a plan. I like to plan each week what I need to do that week and what I want to do that week. It really helps me to have it all written out what I need to do for each assignment and how I can do this during the week, as well as things like work too. This way I know that I have time for everything and this helps me to feel less stressed.

1.

Alongside this, try and plan fun things in too! I like to have things to look forward too as this makes doing uni work seem less stressful , so I like to try and have a few things each week to look forward too. I also like to plan these alongside my work so I know I still have time for work and this way I don't feel as stressed when I am out as I don't feel like I should be working instead.

1.

Talk to people if you are struggling. The well-being team and student support teams at uni are really good for helping people when they are feeling stressed so if you ever feel like your work is getting too much and you are getting really stressed about it, make sure that you talk to someone as this is what they are here for.

I hope some of this helps!
