Hi, how many hours is the study per week for the paramedic course?

Hey, :wavey:

Thank you for your question.

At CCCU, the typical week in university may range from two to four contact days where you will be required to attend lectures or seminars. This will depend on the number of modules that you're covering at that time.

The Paramedic Science course is a full-time course, and therefore each week, you are expected to complete approximately 37.5 hours of learning. This includes independent study. To study at university good time management and commitment are key.

50% of your time studying on the course you will be out on placements. Owing to the varied nature of placements and specialist settings, you may need to travel to and from placements. These are mainly within Kent, Medway, East Sussex and London. However, you will never be required to travel more than 90 minutes from your term time address. Our placement team are accommodating and you can always chat to them if you have any worries.

Check out our website for more information on the course: https://www.canterbury.ac.uk/study-here/courses/paramedic-science

Alternatively, you can email [email protected] if you have any further questions or reply back to this thread and we will answer your question!

I hope this helps:thumbsup:

Thank you for the information given. Could you please advise at what hour would I start and the latest I could finish? For example in the foundation year and also in the first year of the undergraduate course, including the days when I will be placed in to work in the community or in the ambulance

We couldn't advise on this as the timetable would not have been created and placements would not be organised so give specific details but you should expect to have shifts which could be any time of the day, including nights, but this wouldn't be confirmed until much closer to the placement date.
