gap year - how to meet people

so im on my gap year rn, reapplying to some better universities since i got the grades

staying at home all day and just checking ucas is kinda demoralising, how do i meet new people? i just want to interact with people my age, maybe find a girlfriend - nothing crazy or desperate, i'd just like to experience life

i've taken up a few hobbies, but they don't fill my lack of a social life currently, any tips?

thanks!

Hello boss, may I ask what hobbies you’ve started to pick up? Coz that would’ve been my first suggestion especially new sports / run clubs coz those are great places to meet new friends. Other than that things like art classes are a great place to meet friends/girlfriends but places like those are the best for finding gfs because they allow you to interact freely with people with common interests. Other than that I can reccomend travelling, it doesn’t have to be expensive you could just go to Scotland it’s lovely up there or maybe wales or Ireland. Other than that maybe a job is another place to meet new people especially things like bartending (I do that in my free time and it’s a great way to meet new people) but in general I’d just reccomend getting out more, whether that be classes or sports or even like walks and stuff coz those will make it a lot more fun. But most of all just do what you enjoy and enjoy the time off! Hope this helps
