Unconditional offer. 50% Tuition paid. But CAS looks iffy.

Greetings people.

International student here. I was given an unconditional offer from a uni in the UK for MSc for Jan 2025. I had accepted the offer and paid 50% of the tuition as initial deposit.

However, I am a bit skeptical about my CAS issuance. I have once been refused a visitor's visa to the UK over two years ago. The reasons being:

1) My bank statement showed a number of transactions from my family business, a company that I was not "officially" connected to. I agree I should have known better to provide them context or explanation when submitting the documents.

2) They were doubtful of my "intent" to return back to my country of residence as many people my age go to the UK on a visit visa and do not return.

Anyhow, it was not a big deal as I literally just wanted to visit.

But now it's kind of being a pain because someone from CAS Shield has asked me to provide them the refusal letter. I have already told them that I do not have the refusal letter as this was about 2.5 years ago. They have not responded to my message yet.

Has anyone gone through the same or similar experience? Any idea what will be the most likely scenario?

Your situation is a bit complicated.
UK is now very keen on controlling the number of immigrants and so they are extremely cautious in issuing visas. Unis are the first line of defence in issuing CAS. Your previous visa refusal aroused their attention so they asked for more details in support of the CAS. Your "uncooperative" behaviour might give an impression that you are hiding something.
