Portfolio for Architecture at Nottingham

I am applying for architecture at Nottingham for autumn 2025 however am unsure when they will ask for portfolio. I’ve looked through their portfolio guidelines and the 3D art they need is what I’m working on right now. So i’m wondering what the time period between applying and asking for my portfolio is as I need to finish what I’m doing now so that it can be included.
Thanks, just wondering from those of you who have already applied

Hi.

Usually, about 2 or 3 weeks after you submit your application, you will receive an email asking you to upload your portfolio. We generally recommend you look at assembling a portfolio and getting an authentication letter before we request it to make it a smoother process for you. After the portfolio is requested, there is a 3wk deadline for you to upload it. The portfolio is required in order for a decision to be made, so you wouldn't receive an offer without the portfolio.

I hope this helps you, but please feel free to send an enquiry through from the website if you have any further questions.

Good luck with your portfolio and have a nice break,

Karen 😊

Do I need to annotate my portfolio or just add the photos

I believe you do not have to annotate everything, the only required text is the front page for your name and UCAS ID - However, annotations can help understand more about your work so we do encourage it. Take a look at 'Portfolio Guidance - The University of Nottingham'.

Hope this helps ☺️

Hi from what I've seen in the past examples of portfolios, some people sent more than the requirements and were still accepted. Also, did you manage to send the letter from one of your tutors confirming it is your own work? If so, how did you send it?

Oh I’ve sent it already and deleted my old one , ummm I got my art teacher to write it he just wrote a confirmation saying I did it and my name as well as his signature, he had it already from past students.

Personally I asked me 3d teacher, and he already had a format so he just put in my name, printed it out then I scanned it with notes app on my phone to make it a pdf. Then uploaded separately

They should give u a link and u can create a password from it after u choose ur password, they’ll email u the user immediately, then u get into Nottingham hub there’s a section called documents where u can just upload it on

Anyone got their offer for Nottingham architecture yet ? I’ve sent my portfolio nearly a month ago and they’ve not answered me whether I’ve been rejected or accepted

Hi there! Because of the large number of applications K100 Architecture receives and the amount of portfolios we review, it can take a little longer then other applications as a result 🙂 This is because the school like to carefully assess each portfolio when making their decision, so rest assured that no decision yet is not an indicator the application has been unsuccessful.

If you do have any concerns, you can get in touch with the Engineering Support team Here and they would be happy to check for you. Best of luck with your application!

Hey, How do you submit the portfolio through the hub? it mentions I should submit under 'work submission' but I can't find anything...Sorry to bother!

Oh hi, hmmm I think you logged in the wrong way, dw I did that at first as well, but I’m sure there was a email before the portfolio requirement email ( a separate one ) giving u either user ( which is just numbers ) and the link, I think there was a password I’m not sure. ( I could be wrong since I don’t remember all of it 😓) I hope it helped tho 😊 if not I’ll try figure it out

So I sent my portfolio out like mid January and I got an offer back 20th February so that’s like a month. I saw on their website that I could take up to 6 weeks but I think that you still have a shot just as long as you don’t get a rejection.
I actually don’t know what my predicted grades are but the subjects I do aren’t really that great. Product design, photography and engineering.

I was actually also nervous about my offers but it all worked out in the end so I’m sure you’ll get an offer soon 👍
