I gave up on doing jigsaws a couple of years ago because my cat eats the pieces

AH chess! I used to play it tons and also that feeling when the weather finally opens up on a hot June afternoon and you go and play sport with friends. Life hits different.

PRSOM! Yeah I'm a big fan of chess

We can play one day over the internet :yep:

Do you have a rating?

10 minute is typically considered ‘rapid’ chess.

900 is a good elo - I’m currently hanging around 1400!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen!! This is what I have got covered:

Switched my English notes from paper to Online✅

Written up 3 juicy poem quotations and its analysation for Ozymandias and London ready for year 11✅

Electrolysis recap including half equations :cry2: ( I don't like chemistry - i'm a physics person )✅

Section C for geography paper 1 (Coasts)✅

Review daily flashcards✅

Spanish module 2 revision❌

Extra information if you want to know more:

Full mock results I have gotten so far : Maths - 9 in paper 1 I got 76 so pleased with that

In biology I got 80 / 100 ( grade 9 ) which I really wanted 85 so next time definitely will try harder. These were the same mocks year 11 sat so it was unseen papers

Looked into uni stuff about admissions test so I was thinking and I will probably need to sit the TMUA and MAT - @sdfj Im now thinking to do Maths, Further Maths, Business or Econ and EPQ

Important question for you olders. Is there any programmes I should do that will help me in my UCAS personal statement? There is this Scholars programme which is all about careers and last group had opportunity to visit Cambridge uni so im thinking to apply for that.

Honestly, my opinion is that Y10 is probably a bit early to start thinking about UCAS - I'd advise that you focus on GCSEs and then start researching/doing work experience in your Y11 summer

Interesting... how long have you got till you have to submit a decision? Provisional options for me were submitted in December of Y11

Was just thinking because for alevels i need a A*A*A with A* in matas and furthermaths so its going to be tough but for geses i have worked hard up until now and will carry on so I will definitely have time right now rather than in alevels where i will be focused on alevels, admissions test, interviews and many more.

Well done on all the work you’ve put in! I also hated that chem topic so i sympathise.
Wow those mock results are fantastic! Keep it up 🙂
Cool that you’re thinking about your future but for now id focus more on exploring your interests rather than getting bogged down in all the admissions stuff. In year 10 i watched lots of science documentaries to figure out what i wanted to do and that sparked so many areas of interest that im now deepening my knowledge of!
Sounds like a strong a level combo btw! Id recommend econ over business if youre aiming high just cos unis seem to prefer it but obviously up to you

Do you mean programs to literally help me the personal statement or programs you could do to mention in your personal statement? (Sorry my brain doesn’t function properly past half 8)
If it’s the former then im not really sure, unifrog might help you understand a bit better or uniguide. If its the latter than openlearn has good online courses, Springpod is good too, reading relevant stuff or watching documentaries is also sensible if you want to get an idea of subjects (even if you don’t get a fancy certificate!).
Dont stress the uni stuff yet too much though! Interests change a lot and stuff youre doing now wont really be recent enough to mention in a ps anyway unless it sparks a big interest you continue to pursue into your sixth form years 🙂
Why am I seeing cremation adverts everywhere on TSR today.
It's so sad! :cry2::bawling:

Yeah the choice between business and Econ will be in the future when the time comes but I also was thinking about Econ as ive seen that its much more valued .
Ok, I guess I should start focussing on my ps in year 11, as level and a level

Don't start writing your personal statement in Year 11.

Hi all, im pretty sure you have all taken the Intermediate maths challenge UKMT. I just took it today and was pretty confident in it, probably will advance to the grey or pink kangaroo round but in year 11 I can definitely reach the olympiad stage which is something I will get a certificate for - good for the cv for college. The hardest thing was the time as the questions are easy but just need more problem solving skills

Don't start writing your personal statement in Year 11.

I mean things I could include in it. In your ps you write on why you should be chosen for the course so you need to talk about your passion for it so I will start developing things I can write about ie, volunteering, dofe, unique programme, scholars programme and my interest in kickboxing
