im a bit confused by the L2 bit but im doing it mainly because i want to stretch myself in maths during my gcse time, i also know that doing fm will benefit my normal maths grade and i am wanting to do IB and so i will need to do maths (but at a standard level) so fm can also help me with that- i know its similar but technically not actual a level maths
'6ft under' is when you are burying someone so ill let you deduce that one...
anyway hope this cleared some stuff up :flower2:

L2 just means GCSE equivalent, but not GCSE

That's a good reason though :yep:

Oh yeah sooo cool and interesting how these animals have adapted and all of them interact and depend on each other to survive. How did the yellow black fish survive is my real question like?!? He even says the chase lasted 4 hours!!

Yeah that’s really impressive for such a small fish comparatively! I guess theyre just built like that so they can stop themselves being eaten, natural selection kinda ensures that or they’d be extinct

No i'm not dead thankfully;

This month I have reflected on how to revise effectively and how to change it from passive methods to more active methods as not only will this help for year 11 but by becoming experienced in this method it will allow me to adjust to a-levels a lot more quicker as I might do Maths, Further maths and Economics @sdfj could you give me a brief summary of econ and is it similar to gcse business studies - Thanks for your time

Im not gonna list the things I have done as it's going to be veryyyy long. I will update more frequent as now I feel I have a more reliable and better routine

I just did my English literature paper 2 which went alright. Chem test I got back and I got 100% which further solidifies that this study method is much better. UKMT went horrendous I barely scraped gold. Next year im aiming for the olymipads hopefully - I was 17 off.

Streaks:
Corbettmaths 10 a day with (1 day on 1 day off) - 18 days
Duolingo - 2 days ( I had 23 day steak before this😫 )
Workout - 21 days ( Breakfast includes: Eggs, yogurt granola, fruits, milk, toast with avocado, and sometimes cereal )
I do shoulders and back, chest and abdominal, arms (2 days) , legs and 2 days rest in no particular order.
Chess - 0 days - I entered a tournament and got knocked out quarter finals. Hopefully I can bring it home next time.

Other:
Sports: Ping pong practice weekly, Play basketball w friends and also play football on weekends ( Last week we went to astro for 3 hours then Nando's )
Started power hour in our school - I have to do extra science due to separate sciences.
Free time: Watch prison break or Asia and obviously play video games rarely ( Forza and eafc)

Learning how to revise effecting is a great idea! Whats been your favourite way of doing this thus far if you’ve tried any?
Glad your English paper went alright. 100% in chem is amazing! And a gold on UMKT- dont be so hard on yourself youre doing fantastic :woohoo:
Well done keeping up with the streaks even if you miss a few days here and there the more important thing is that you keep going rather than just abandon them 🙂
The quotes are cool!

So... A-Level Econ huh

Well, as you know, the course is split into two halves: micro and macro economics:

From what I've covered, micro is focused on the market mechanisms and the main economic problem (ie - scarcity, opp cost, demand & supply, etc.) and then starts to move into market failure. I think the Y2 microeconomics theme looks a lot more at business behaviours and the labour market. There's small overlaps between microeconomics and GCSE business, but afaik, it's not a big overlap.

Macroeconomics starts by introducing the main economic performance indicator, and eventually links in the UK and it's performance and policies. Not much else to say

Also I like that second quote :awesome:

my older brother took economics i think 2 academic years ago (i think the year 2022-2023) and omg we had a4 posters and graphs and who knows covering ALL of the walls of our bathroom it literally made me want to just curl up and close my eyes from what i was looking at every time i went into there

Yeah I will just work harder next time!
Ok so I basically found out that you need to approach each subject differently so for biology for instance since you are definitely more skilled in that I do this: Make my notes in class, If I feel confident I leave it for whenever im free next week or the week after, But if I feel less confident and feel my notes are not up to standard then I go home watch a free science vid with my textbook and make detailed notes from that. As for when I felt confident after the week I watch a vid and write up any notes in my school book that I have missed. So already I have revisited the content. After when I have a test coming up on it - I whip out my notes and make flashcards based off my notes purely. I like to make my own flashcards which can be time-consuming but is very worth it. The day before the test I do banks of practice questions on pmt, cognate and even sometimes past papers as this method also works for mocks (except the flashcards has already been made and I have visited the content 3 times so practically I only need to do a bit of active recall and other than that tons of exam practice). Certain subjects like geography I enjoy blurting or teaching it to someone else while im writing on a whiteboard

Sounds like a great way of revising content! :woo:Very similar to what i do actually 🙂 Blurting is probably my favourite- comes in really handy for diagrams in bio too if youre ever struggling to remember them (like the heart structure) then you can draw it out as a model of how you want it to look then colour code then blurt from memory and repeat as many times as you need. Teaching people is also great! I used that a lot toward the GCSEs which drove lots of people I know mad 😅

Thanks! It's quite hard to stay consistent tbf.
Also I prefer not to have a routine after the morning and just try complete your goals for the day.

1.

Wake up early (6:30)

2.

Shower straight away and freshen up (Skincare and brush etc)

3.

Make my delicious breakfast which should definitely be the best and healthiest of the day.

4.

Eat outside if the weathers nice (I find that soo soothing listening to the birds in the summer) if not eat while doing something productive like chess or duo lingo or update the student room as I am doing.

5.

Chores

6.

Study for however you want

7.

Workout (In my breaks I also usually do duo lingo or smthing)

8.

Watch my series

9.

Lunch (Protein filled)

10.

Study for some more

11.

Go outside to play some sport with my friends or by my self

12.

Videogames or chill

13.

Chores + Spend some time with my mum

14.

Dinner

15.

Relax or study some more

16.

💤

Obviously this is not what I follow everyday as I have school and I also have other things to do but the most important thing is that you should complete your goals. Also make sure you do the things you love. I started loving cooking so now with my mum on the weekend I love to cook with her. Hope that helps!

Haha! That glad to hear as now I found an effective way to revise and have backed up evidence it will work. Thanks for the reassurance!

Lol. That's what my science teacher keeps saying. "Hang up questions on the walls so you revise without revising!" Its quite effective though tbs its like flashcards and also its prob fun.

The head of English last year told me that one of her students essentially plastered his bedroom, the kitchen, the living room and the bathroom with sticky notes on each of the texts for English literature  So like poetry in the bathroom and Romeo and Juliet in the kitchen

Less maths than you’d imagine to be honest - bit of arithmetic and percentages and rearranging formulae but that’s the extent of it. A decent understanding of gradients/basic calculus can sort of help (especially with Y2 micro) but A-Level econ is mostly essays!
