Educational Psychology Doctorate 2025

Just wondering if anyone who's applied for an Educational Psychology Doctorate this year has had any application responces yet??

One of the universities I've applied for has an initial written task on the 16th Jan and I haven't heard from any of the universities I've applied for!

The nerves are setting in!

I'm in the same boat still waiting to here back from two universities not sure if its a good or bad sign. One of them has the written task on Jan 16th. I've just had a rejection email from Nottingham University which was disheartening, even though it was my back up choice, but still holding out hope for the other two. I have extensive experience in teaching, safeguarding, pastoral and healthcare. Currently working as an assistant psychologist for a neurodevelopment assessment service but not yet been in an assistant ed psych role. Admission success rates are like 4 to 6% at the unis I've applied for so it's going to be a slog! I'm applying for Clinical Psychology doctorate next year if this doesn't pan out!

I heard back from Nottingham this morning! I'm fully expecting to not get a place this year but the wait is still killing me. I was expecting to hear before xmas but now feel like its unlikely. Goodluck!

May I know if anyone is a self-funded applicant? I applied to 3 universities in November but haven’t heard back from them since then

I am still waiting to hear from all 3 of mine! 😭 Anyone else heard much more yet?

I’ve had one rejection and one interview offer. Still waiting on my third!

I had one rejection about 10 days ago and received one invitation to interview this week (I only applied to two courses). This is my first year of applying, so I’m really pleased to have got an interview

Can I ask what things did they ask you in your interview? How did it go? I have mine in 3 weeks.

The questions were really simple, much more simple than I had planned for. I blabbed on far too much to try and fit in everything I had prepared to say. Everyone, interview panel and fellow candidates, were kind and reassuring.

I would think about what specifically about the role you’re interested in, and why you want the job, rather than memorizing legislation and codes of practice.

Hi, do you have any advice on how to write a good personal statement? I know you need to include examples of applying psychology theories and knowledge of the UK education system but is there anything more specific that would be good to include?

They've not been online since march, so you probably won't get another reply
