My Girlfriend talks by herself and I don't know if I'm overreacting?

We've been together for close to 3 years. I don't think I ever noticed it in the first year or so, because we weren't living together.

She'll talk out loud very often throughout the day. If it's 'I'm going for a smoke', 'I'm going to do this', 'I'm going to do that', etc...

I know that many people are like this, but it's constant. It's difficult to concentrate on things I might be doing and it affects my energy and mood quite often.

I don't know what to do.

sounds like she's talking to you, since you're in the room too?

Of course she talks to me, but that's not what I'm trying to say. Often she just speaks to herself about things she's doing. Today, for instance, it's been nonstop. To the point that sometimes I don't know if she wants me to respond.

So I ask her if she's asking me, but she says "I'm just talking to myself".

Get some earplugs if it bothers you?

Everyone in my family did this (including me)

Just verbalising what we are thinking - ‘right, what am I doing’ as I sit for work, ‘I’m gonna make toast’
