Unis with my GCSEs for med?

Hi! I'm in year 12 rn and I want to apply for medicine next year, and I'm currently wondering where I should apply to. I'm definitely going to apply to Plymouth, but what could my other choices be?
For GCSEs I got 888777655, with the 8s in bio, chem and physics, the 6 in maths and the 5s in English lit/lang. I've resat my lang, hoping to get a 6. What unis would be good to apply to with these GCSE grades?

if you do end up getting a 6 in lang, I would say take a look at University of Exeter; they really do not look at your other GCSEs other than English lang (as stated on the website). But that being said, you must have strong UCAS predicted grades as Exeter places heavy consideration on this (75%) but also a decent enough ucat as its worth (25% (helps if you’re contextual)). Remember to apply strategically! Keep up the grind for your predictions and ucat, you’ll do amazing ☀️

Yeah I've had a look a look at Exeter, and if I get a 6 it will probably be my second choice. It's close to where I live and I went to their scholar programme a few weeks ago, so I'd have a reduced offer.

I did that programme last year as well for exeter
I would look at Entry requirements | Medical Schools Council this and narrow down unis
you have decent gcses avoid those that score gcses etc KCL then narrow it down
I would look at applying to BSMS if you can qualify as contextual e.g bright ideas doing this programme cpould get you a guaranteed interview

Thanks. I've had a look at BSMS before and I've done some of their online work experience programme. I was thinking of having it as one of my choices but the city's quite expensive so that's putting me off a bit. I'll do a bit of searching first to see what other unis I could choose, and if I can find any I probably won't apply. Can I ask, how do you find out what unis score GCSEs more than others?

Hey there! 👋

So glad to hear you'll be applying for Plymouth! Although I don't study medicine, I'd be happy to help if you have any questions about the university in general, the city, student life, etc., if you have any!

Best of luck with your application 😄
