Is virtual work experience any good for university applications (biological science)?

I want to get some work experience for applying to study "biological sciences" BCs at university (in the UK, where I'm from), but due to having social anxiety I probably can't do any in person. I therefore looked into virtual work experience.

Do you think it is worth doing one? If so, which of the two linked above are more related to and useful for "biological sciences"? Any other recommendations are welcome too! I would definitely prefer to do one more focused on the scientific aspect, as I find policy (etc) very boring.

My interests are quite broad, by the way - I really care about the environment and global warming the most, but I'm also passionate about animal well being.

You don't need any sort of 'work experience' for a Bioscience application.

You just need to be able to discuss some academic areas that interest you, and show that you are ready for degree level study - do the springpod stuff if you want to but in its self it isnt going to make a University offer any more likely. More useful will be relevant reading beyond your A level syllabus.

To reiterate the post above, you don’t need work experience for biological sciences degrees.

Heya! I'm a current student in the biological sciences field and would always recommend gaining additional experience outside of your studies if you have the time/capacity to do so. It can always give you something extra to talk about in your application, show your interest, as well as generally boosting your interests in certain areas of study, gaining skills, and broadening your knowledge, whether this is in-person or virtual experience 😊
