Medicine A-Level query

Hi,

I am thinking of applying to medicine, but was wondering whether my A-Levels are good enough

Biology
Chemistry
Drama

I understand that drama is a 'weaker' subject, but no actual uni specifies a third subject (and I will be applying to unis like Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle...etc NOT Oxbridge)

What do y'all think?

hey, drama is not a weak subject at all! some med applicants (obvs not all as bio, chem + maths is quite common) choose to use their 3rd subject as a more relaxed/non STEM subject. personally, I did Spanish! This is absolutely fine; just make sure you check all requirements for unis before you do apply. But you should still be able to apply to a majority of med school with these choices. it also can be great to show you have a life outside of stem, and can be great to use as a “hobby”. good luck!!!)

Chem and Biology plus one other is a combination that opens up all med schools in the uk except Cambridge so you should be fine 🙂 (to my knowledge!)
Also drama is a great subject to take to improve your communication, teamwork, improvisation skills etc which are all fantastic skills for medicine.
Newcastle has no A-level subject requirements and the others would be fine with this combination too! Just do what you enjoy
