Manchester vs Sheffield mechanical engineering

It feels impossible for me to decide which uni to firm. The most important factor to me is the salary prospects after uni but the lifestyle, teaching quality, accomodation and support are all really important too

Hi there,

Career afterwards is definitely a lot of people's deciding factor - However if you are completely torn between two i would consider the social and accessibility of the unis - you are going to be there a minimum of 3 years, you might as well enjoy it.
Here are some tips i used to help decide where to apply.

1 - look up their society instagrams are there any that attract you
2 - what is transport like, can you get to everything easily and how complicated is it for you to travel home
3 - compare their cost of livings, accommodation and food prices in the area
4- purely self indulgent but i looked at what the graduation is like - some unis seem to make much more of a deal out of it and i wanted to celebrate after working hard

Hope these help you make a decision
