Student Finance and Reassessment

Dear Student Finance England,

If I start uni as international student and I was initially classified as an international student. However, during my first year of study, my circumstances changed, and I was granted Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK.

I would like to inquire about the following:
1. How can I update my residency status with Student Finance England to reflect my ILR?
2. Am I eligible for tuition fee and maintenance loans for the next academic year as a home student?
3. What documentation will you require from me to process this change?

I would greatly appreciate guidance on the next steps and the best way to contact you for further assistance.

Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to your response.

Kind regards,

Hi there, you can update your residency status with us by providing us with evidence of the status change. This would be a the letter from the Home Office to confirm the status change and your share code. This can be uploaded via your online account or be posted to: Student Finance England, PO Box 210, Darlington, DL1 9HJ. Once reviewed and validated, currently estimated at 24 working days, then we can confirm your support eligibility at that time. Thanks, Stephen.

If I am Eligible. Will SFE will finance my next 2 years. I’ll be paying for the first one myself so not going to apply for the first one.

Hi there, if eligible, then we would look to provide support from the next academic year onwards. Thanks, Stephen.
