Hey guys,
I am year 11 student REALLY (emphasis here!!!) wanting to do medicine in uni. I would certainly love to apply to a more prestigious uni when I get to 6th form. I know that a lot of unis look at your gcse grades when applying for medicine. I have already achieved three A*s in maths, numeracy, and English language (the two maths qualifications I sat a year early). I also have three A*s (worth 45% of my final grade) in each science, hoping to achieve three final A*s in them too. I seem to be getting A*s/As in my other subjects too, however I have a really big problem. I really don't think that I will do well in English literature. Would it look bad, for example, if I had all A*s/As but a lower grade in lit (B/C maybe)? I have checked the requirements for some unis, and they don't really mention English lit, but will it look bad? Is there a certain amount of A*s that I need?
Slightly desperate student,
K.
