Economics is a great subject to do, just keep in mind its very challenging and technical. If you're doing the AQA exam board, I'd definitely recommend!

It is if you want to go to uni and study something in that area, or go to a competitive uni.
Hello there!

It’s great to hear you’re enjoying Business at GCSE! When deciding between Business and Economics at A-level, the best choice depends on your interests and future goals, as both are excellent subjects with their own strengths. Business has a practical focus, teaching you about real-world applications like marketing, finance, human resources, and entrepreneurship. It’s ideal if you enjoy learning how companies operate and want to explore career-oriented topics directly linked to management, marketing, or business strategy.
On the other hand, Economics takes a more analytical and theoretical approach. It delves into how markets work, the role of governments, and global trade, offering a broader perspective on systems that underpin businesses. Economics is often viewed as more academic and rigorous, which can give you an edge if you’re considering degrees or careers in finance, economics, or data analytics.
If you’re passionate about the practical side of running a business and its operations, Business might be the better choice. However, if you’re curious about the bigger picture, like how economies function and policies affect markets, Economics could be more suitable. If your school allows it, you might also consider taking both subjects, as they complement each other well—Business focuses on the company level, while Economics explores the environment in which businesses operate.

Ultimately, the most important factor is your interest and enjoyment of the subject, as that will motivate you to succeed. Both options open doors to exciting opportunities, so choose the one that aligns best with your passions and long-term goals.

I hope this helps!

Best of luck with your decision! 😊

Kind regards,
