Alevel Subjects

Hi guys,
I want to take computer science at Alevels. However, at my school, it wasn't an option at GCSE; there was only ICT. Is it still possible for me to take computer science at alevels even if I did not do it at GCSE?

Hey there, how are you doing?

In regards to your question, a simple answer is yes it is. It may be a little difficult as you won't have prior knowledge maybe compared to peers in your class, but you will be able to get through it.

For example it's like taking an A-Level such as Sociology or Psychology at A-Level, without having taken it at GCSE. Many students don't get to take it at GCSE's but still thrive and do very well having taken them at A-Levels. I wish you well in your choice, remember to choose subjects you ultimately feel happy with - as you will be the one studying in depth for 2 years - nobody else 🙂

Yes, but schools would require a strong maths/physics grade. It may seem hard at first - especially if there are others in your class who have done it at GCSE, but you will be able to power through it if you put in the hard work.
