ngl theres no way u can ACTUALLY study langauge. What I'd suggest is try to read more which sounds kinda cliche but it will build your vocabulary. Try comparing the structure of the texts with the structure of your own writing and see what you're missing. Another thing you can do to build your vocabulary is search up grade 9 english language vocabulary and try to cram the definitions in bc it does really help. Goodluck

Apologies, I only have experience in getting my kids through Spec B. I've never tackled Spec A.
