Personal statement advice to cover finance and accounting

I am writing my personal statement and im applying to mainly courses for accounting and finance however I am also going to apply for a pure finance degree at LSE, also applying for A&F at LSE too, but i don't know if me writing my personal statement and including accounting will affect my chances of getting an offer for the pure finance degree because that would be my first choice. The majority of my personal statement is basically finance related and only a small paragrapph is related to accounting but not specifically said it was about accounting but Should I include a small section covering it or just don't mention accounting?
Have you looked at the detailed advice on their website LSE course pages about what they want in a finance application/PS?

It’s not a sensible idea to apply for 2 courses at LSE. It straight away shows that you are not committed to a specific course.

my question is that if i do a personal statement tailored to lse bsc pure finance, will it affect my chances of receiving offers from other universities where i am applying for accounting and finance, such as kcl, queen mary's, bristol.

Hi @georgeh7,

It sounds like your current layout for your personal statement is great!

Since your applying for mainly finance and accounting, I would recommend accounting is somewhat tied into your personal statement. It could be used to explain your passion for finance in a broader way. I certainly wouldn't recommend removing accounting entirely as it does link to the majority of your options. However, based on what you have shared, as long as you have included accounting in some capacity I'm confident your personal statement will be great. Since both courses massively focus on finance, your passion will still majorly shine through.

I was in a similar situation where I was applying for business and management courses, but a couple of marketing too. I just added a small section on how marketing interests me in the business world and tied it into the modules offered on both courses and I got offers back from both course types.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
-Sophia (Business and Management)

Ring those universities up next Monday and ask them directly.

did you include the fact that you're applying for finance and accounting in your PS even though you're also applying to a pure finance course at LSE?
