Portsmouth accom

I’m looking for a shared kitchen and en suite room at Portsmouth and want to know which ones are the best. I’m looking at cheaper ones but the sites a bit confusing with knowing which ones have shared or private kitchens (I want self-catered and shared) so if anyone can help me to know more I’d rlly appreciate it. I want to b in halls for first year too

The best ones are usually “greetham” and “catherine” but as someone who lived in both I don’t recommend. Silverfish infested!! All over the walls in your bed and shower space etc. I’ve also had a rat run across my leg here… just wish I was warned before so warning you too 🫶🏽 the rats and silverfish for Portsmouth accommodation was posted on the news definitely have a look at that. However good luck I hope you find what you’re looking for.

What year were you there? And is it easy to get into halls two years in a row or is there a shortage of uni accommodation/halls rooms over there

Hello! Finding accommodation in Portsmouth can indeed be a bit confusing, but don't worry, I can offer you some suggestions.
There are plenty of student halls available in and around the universities of Portsmouth. If you're looking for affordable accommodation with clear information, uhomes is a really good option. You can contact their consultants directly for any questions. They specialise in student housing and offer all room types. Their website lists the facilities, room types, and prices of each hall in detail, so you can clearly see which rooms have shared kitchens and which have private kitchens. Moreover, the prices they offer are quite reasonable, with many exclusive discounts. They don't charge agency fees for their exclusive or partnered properties!
As for university-managed halls, I would recommend Portsmouth House, Crown House, and Victoria Hall. These halls all offer single rooms with shared kitchens and studio flats with private kitchens.
Hope this helps~

Did you end up choosing a hall? If you stay with Unite Students they do a rebook option! They email tenants (around dec-mar iirc) and post flyers so it’s hard to miss. It’s super easy to rebook and can even be a little cheaper, you can also give a preference for what floor you want I think. They also had some space left later I think though because some people whose plans for a shared house fell through ended up back at halls (but I wouldn’t leave it late if you wanted to rebook).

My son is in Chaucer and it has been brilliant. Greetham also good. Trafalgar too.
