Pick a unique/ different POV. One of criteria (according to my teacher) is seeing how well you adapt your voice to suit the audience- so a tip is maybe dont write from the perspective of a teenager- change it to a made up persona becayse that helps you adapt you voice. Thats not to say you cant get a grade nine with a teenager pov- but it is easier to change your tone to suit your audience when you’re writing as someone thats not you. Thats for all 3- article speech and letter.

For each separate one you just have to remember the structure of each- for an article you need headings and subheadings. Letter youll need a greeting and an ending (e.g. yours sincerely). Speech is mostly just direct address. Nothing else there. Mostly simple, but still important.

Put lots of advanced vocabulary. When you read over your work, cross out basic or simple words and replace them with more advanced ones. Speaking of, reread and recheck your writing. You’re marked on spelling and grammar so make sure its all right.

Plan your writing. This should’ve probably been at the top. A brief plan on what ideas youll include, but also briefly note who your audience are, what your tone is going to be, and what you’re trying to do (persuade/inform/advise, etc). Shouldnt take longer than five minutes and trust me itll help.

For revision, i mostly try to read exemplars and model answers that got full marks from the examiner reports- you can find them on pearson website. Try to see what they’re doing, then try to copy them. Read the examiner notes. Sometimes they’re helpful.
