Medicine schools…

If I apply with 988877777666 (but the 9 is a resit in physics which was originally a 7) in GCSEs and 3200 Band 1 UCAT, with A* A* A predicted. What chance do I have at UCL & Imperial medicine?
Would I also have a chance at Manchester, QMUL & Glasgow?
Btw I went to a grammar school where are the average gcse grade was an 8

Hello. Just want to let you know that gcse aren't as important as A Levels if you want to apply to medicine. Medicine is really competitive and so they would want As in A levels and a good Ucat score.
Hope that helps!!
I wouldn't agree with xiinan response

Most universities for medicine will score your GCSEs to first get an interview. You then get an offer after interview which is conditional on your A level grades.

If a university has a high contexual score (considering you went to a grammar school so may not qualify), consider other universities that are UCAT heavy which should increase your chances of an interview.

I don't think many universities accept GCSE resits either

Thank you for clarifying!! I am just answering from the perspective of a student in Scotland, thinking it's roughly the same in other parts of the UK. However, I've learnt that it's not the case.

All unis I’ve listed don’t look at GCSEs past minimum requirement, they heavily score UCAT. What chances would I have ??

There are few med schools that score GCSE as part of their interview selection, eg. Oxford, Newcastle (40%), KCL, Cardiff (RUK students need full GCSE score to get any interview invitation), QUB, Birmingham, Leeds (full score GCSE), there are few others.

The rest of the med schools look at minimum, ie a 6 in subjects.

Your hypothetical UCAT score no longer will be based on 3600 from 2025 but 2700 as AR section has been removed.

For the unis you listed, GCSE results ain't as important as your predicted A and more importantly UCAT.
