If I said I was a philanthropist on my profile

I don't know the broader term on it, however, I do give money to good causes.

Is it illegal to put philanthropist on my Facebook profile?
If it were illegal to lie on a dating profile then we’d be dealing with a much larger prison overcrowding problem.
I mean it's fine legally speaking but I think most people when you say "philanthropist" think of "Bill Gates giving millions to charities and starting his own" and not "Joe Bloggs donating a £100 a couple times a year to a charity". Which I mean, isn't to say the latter isn't a bad thing but, it probably does give an inaccurate picture of things.

Equally I don't really see what that has to do with your facebook profile. Like if you were doing a specific thing to raise money like "donate to me to run dressed as mr blobby for charity" then sure it makes sense to make a facebook post about that specifically to get people to engage with it. But just writing "I'm a philanthropist" is a) completely unqualified and b) even if true serves no purpose except to aggrandise yourself. Either way, I don't think it reflects on you well...

I’ll bet money it’s the persistent poster who thinks they’ll be arrested for every transgression.

i would look at it and think 'pathetic, do they really think that sort of baseless claim could impress anyone, what a loser.' tbh

Doesn't TSR arrest people who persistently post about being arrested? 👮🏻

Haha. Only if they break the completely real and not at all made up laws about Facebook profile accuracy.
